Deck Materials

Redwood and Composite Decking

Redwood decks offer natural wood beauty but require more maintenance to seal and stain them. Composite decking is often more expensive, comes in thinner profiles, and does not require staining or sealing. Both materials have their advantages so it is best to look at the options and consider what is best for your particular location.

Ipe and Hardwood Decking

Hardwood decking has been well marketed as a decking material option. This material is very dense and does offer protection from insects and rot. Hardwood decks are more expensive and require more work to maintain over time. Most hardwood decking is not sustainably harvested or ecologically friendly.
